The co-pilot of a Flydubai flight traveling from Dubai to Tel Aviv reportedly intended to deliberately crash the aircraft into Ben Gurion Airport. This information comes from US broadcasters like ABC News and CNN, citing American and Israeli sources. Investigations by the United Arab Emirates are still in progress.

The incident occurred last Wednesday. According to Emirati authorities, the co-pilot attacked the pilot in the cockpit with a fire axe. Despite severe injuries, the pilot managed to open the cockpit door. Passengers then subdued the attacker.

The plane lost significant altitude during the assault. A second crew took over the aircraft and landed it in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia. The co-pilot was later transferred to the UAE. Israeli officials state he is from Oman.

Investigators Examining Terrorist Suspicions

Both Israel and the United Arab Emirates are treating the event as an attempted terrorist attack. The Emirati news agency WAM, quoting the Public Prosecutor's Office, reported that the co-pilot attempted to seize control of the aircraft.

US media also reported that the man had been dismissed by a previous airline in Oman for security reasons. According to "The Wall Street Journal," he was temporarily banned from flying due to concerns about his potential radical ideological views.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu described the situation as Islamist indoctrination. Whether Iran played a role in the incident remains unclear.

US Vice President JD Vance stated that a potential connection is being investigated. US President Donald Trump, however, offered his personal assessment that Iran might be responsible, without providing evidence.
